Participant Testimonials

"I realized that I was unconsciously thinking, “things have to be this way”, “my idea has to be brilliant”, or “I don’t want people to think my idea sucks.” Later I realized that my preconceptions were disturbing my creativity. At the same time, I learned importance of creating a safe environment for people, including myself, to feel free to speak their mind without fearing how others might feel about them."

"While experiencing different techniques in Innovation Thinking System workshop, I learned that some people are good at one technique; while others are good at others. I found my strengths in the innovation process and learned how important it is to work in diverse team, as this leverages all our different strengths at different innovation phases."

"I didn’t think that I could use techniques to generate ideas for problem solving at my workplace. Before participating in this workshop, I only used fixed conventional ways and past experiences to solve problems. I learned several techniques through this ITS workshop to come up with many ideas. Furthermore, I experienced that more excellent ideas can be added when I work together with other members, and this process is called “Kyoso” in Japanese and the meaning is to create something together.
All the techniques are useful and I will use them, starting tomorrow, in my workplace."

"Even when I had a good idea, I had trouble executing and realizing it. The Innovation Thinking System helped me to be aware of how I kept falling into different thinking traps, like blaming others or the circumstances."

"I have experienced other creative thinking workshops before. But an approach of this workshop is totally different form others. It is simple and easy to understand. My favorite portion is “Kyoso (create something with others)”. The concept opened my eyes through discussions with other members. It leads me to think that I would like to spread innovation in my workplace as a creative leader rather than think only by myself."

"The Innovative Thinking System is a way of thinking and skill building that I was not consciously aware of. It is an important way of creating space for innovation and the co-creation of ideas with colleagues, which is essential. I want to tell my colleagues what I learned in this workshop in order to build that kind of innovative environment in our group."

"I was in a thinking trap and jumped to the conclusion, “I can’t… because of limited available resources”. However, after becoming aware of this tendency, which I was unable to notice before, I felt I could start seeing the situation differently."
